Recently, Carroll and I were talking and he began to tell me about the Crosses in the Pine Trees at Easter. Guess what?? I had never heard about this, nor had I noticed it and it amazed me. How many of you knew this?? All weekend, all I did was go around looking at pine trees and taking pictures as I found another amazement as to how God shows to non believers and reminds all believers through nature that Jesus died on the Cross for each of us. If I was not out walking and hunting for them, I could be just driving down the rode, or riding down the road hunting and amazed and my new discovery that everyone supposeably knew about but me LOL..How many of you knew or know about this?? I took tons of pictures, but here is a good one and it is on my profile as well..

One day on the phone before Easter, I was talking to Kayla telling her I was going to church Easter Sunday. She invited me to come to her house and we would go through her closet being I have lost so much weight and find me a dress to borrow. I am normally a giver and not a taker..I have helped Haley Suggs with fundraisers for her cancer, and others throughout my life that I felt that God wanted me to help. Strangers, friends, family, etc...I am not one to take handouts, but when I got to Kayla's house, she gave me 3 very nice dresses and told me to just keep them. That is a true friend. I will repay her one day!! Some way, some how!!

Kayla will tell you that I argued with her that I would only borrow them, but yet she insisted telling me to shut up that they were mine and they are so nice!!! She then calls me two days later and takes me shopping for accessories. THAT IS WHAT A TRUE FRIEND IS ABOUT!!

I have updated my photo's of one of the dresses she let me have to wear and just wanted to show my appreciation to Kayla for her being the blessing in my life and others lives for being who she is: Giving, graceful, beautiful, kind, and not only beautiful AND I MEAN beautiful on the outside, but just as beautiful on the inside.

Firefighters For Kids Foundation, in memory of Amanda Cox, (a Firefighter's daughter that passed away several years ago), is holding a Boston Butt sale at Westgate Parkway under the Water World Tower behind Fire Station #3. The cost is $20 each and for a much needed cause.

KIDS ,AND THE FAMILIES OF THESE CHILDREN AT UAB NEED YOUR SUPPORT, so please come out and get your boston butt, as the fundraiser is going on NOW!! The fundraiser began on Friday with only 400 butts available, but there are plenty left for Saturday. You do not have to get out of your car, as the Firemen will bring them out to you.

You will be blessed by participating, and there is no other feeling in this world than the wonderful feeling of giving and helping others in need. It is a very rewarding feeling knowing that you helped someone in need, ESPECIALLY children in need. So, I challenge each Dothan Voice Member to participate and tell one person about it.

Firemen lay their lives on the line every shift that they work. My dad retired from DFD with the rank of Captain in 1995, (he passed away in Sept 08), and my fiancee is a DFD Captain as well. I just feel that as much as these Firemen do for the City of Dothan, if they are asking for our help in helping someone else, that we should all participate!

It's hard to write a blog after Sass has beat me to the punch. She just CANNOT be outdone but I sure will try wink wink....

I sure did enjoy last night and hope we all have another meet and greet again real soon. It was a blast. If you were not there then you don't know what you missed out on!! It was a very comfortable atmosphere along with the fact that everyone that I talked with and saw were very laid back and having a good time which of course helped with that! Even if you are quiet and shy, (Lord knows I am not, and many others now too), but even if you are, I am sure you would have walked right in and felt like you "fit right on in."

As for the rest of my blog...I want you to refer to Sass's because instead of plagerizing I will just divert you to hers  due to the fact that she writes very professionallyand intelligently and said what I would've said anyways HAHA...

I have friends that I have known from this website since it launched such as Joey, Kayla, Jamey, Sass, Donna Hovey, Stacey aka Esbee,Kayla Tyler, Tara Hatfieeld (hoping I don't leave noone out, wow I need Sass's help)! Anyway, I have also made alot of new friends, RobertWiley, Bob Martin, Richard Morgan, Rinamay,  R. Craven, which by the way did a great job singing and playing! It was a blast, so make sure next time you DO NOT miss it....Love all of you guys!!!

I am praying for everyone in the aboved named communites, their families, and friends of this senseless tragedy.  My heart goes out to you, and my prayers are with you. May God bless each of you and give you comfort in this difficult time.  It is my prayer that he blesses each of you with His peace that is beyond all understanding. None of us understand why things like this occur, but in times like this put your faith in God and he will pull you through. Remember that He will never leave you nor forsake you. No mountain too high, no valley too low. Praying for all!

Mike Schmitz announced his candidacy for running for Mayor for the City of Dothan. What great news for Dothan! Mike is also a advertiser on Dothan Voice and has been since it launched. There is no better man for the City. He is a true Christian man, giving, loyal, and I have seen this man do wonderful things for people that he did not even know. When it comes time to vote., Vote for Mike...Mike4mayor.com. We are routing for you and I know plenty that will be voting for you already!!

Good luck Mike and I know that God will pour out his blessings on you in return for things you have accomplished and done for others in the area.

I have spoke with Rickey Stokes several times this week. The families are going through extremely rough times right now, and are in need of God's healing power and prayer. Please continue to pray for them, and ask God to give them peace. While praying I ask that you remember to lift the Coskrey's grandchildren up in prayer as well, as they are having a very hard time dealing with the circumstances.  Remember that after a funeral is when reality usually hits and people aren't around for support as much. If you know any of them, I ask that you continue to visit and check on them.

To the Coskrey, Stokes, and Holland families:  May God Bless all of you and give you strength.

This is the last blog I will do on this..LOL...Saturday night is the Fireman's Ball at the Holiday Inn South and Jakes. It will be a blast. If any single females wanna meet me out there and lets go have a great time send me a message.  My dad retired from DFD and recently passed away, you can see his profile (GregParker), I did it as a memorial..My fiancee is one as well but will be working that night, so lets go have some fun!!! Lisa, get back with me on this..:) It's 25.00 a ticket and goes towards Muscular Dystrophy. Lots of single firemen will be there and its a time when the fireman can take a break and have some fun...So, let's go!
